All about our custom crops and how to get your thumb green!
Overview
In FrontierSMP, you can collect custom crops that each have their own unique seasons to be grown in! These crops also must be grown in the unique pots provided by the farmer. You must also use watering cans or sprinklers, as well as fertilizer to achieve a higher rated crop. These mechanics all behave very similarly to Stardew Valley farming. All crops can be sold at the Farmer at spawn for profit.
Obtaining Custom Crops
Crops can currently be obtained two different ways:
Capture Sites: Certain capture sites will reward players with seeds
Towny Resources: Surveying for resources has a chance to provide you with seeds daily.
How to Grow Crops
Once you are sure your seeds can be grown in the current season, you must place a pot down. Pots also must be watered with a sprinkler or a watering can. The higher quality sprinkler or watering can, the more pots next to each other will be watered.
Improving Crop Quality
Crops quality can be possibly improved with fertilizer.
You can use yield increasing fertilizer to obtain more crops per harvest.
Water retaining soil will keep crops watered for a longer period
Magic Bottle will speed up crop growth.
Scarecrows will prevent crows from stealing your crops.
Surveying your Crops
Make sure to have a soil surveyor on hand to check the quality of your soil. It will give you information on how moist the soil is to ensure your crops do not dry up. Scarecrows also work within 1 Minecraft chunk to ensure crows do not steal any crops.
